CPSC Oversight Hearing Rescheduled

The Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade, chaired by Rep. Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), has rescheduled the hearing on “Oversight of the Consumer Product Safety Commission" for Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 10:15 a.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

Subcommittee members will question the five commissioners regarding the CPSC’s budget, priorities, and policies. The subcommittee will also hear testimony from a separate panel of stakeholders on legislation authored by Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-KS) to require a study of the mandatory safety standards for Recreational Off-Highway Vehicles (ROVs) proposed by the CPSC, including a review of the technical validity of the proposed standards and the effect on the utility of ROVs used by the Armed Forces, before the CPSC may establish such standards.as they are posted.
