WASHINGTON, DC - Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) today released a manager’s amendment ahead of today’s opening statements for the markup of H.R. 8, the North American Energy Security and Infrastructure Act of 2015. The bill up for consideration before the committee has taken into consideration the feedback from several legislative hearings, the testimony from 9 government witnesses, including the Secretary of Energy, and 38 private sector organizations.

Chairman Upton commented, “This multi-year effort is about fulfilling our energy potential - creating jobs and improving our infrastructure to ensure affordable energy continues to flow for generations to come. Keeping the lights on and engines running across America should remain a top priority- we have crafted a thoughtful, substantive package to update our laws for the 21st century that will hopefully end up on the president’s desk for his signature."
