Look Ahead: Committee Announces Hearing Schedule for the Week of January 11

WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today announced its hearing schedule for the week of January 11.

On Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Energy and Power will hold a legislative hearing on “H.R. _____, the EPS Improvement Act of 2016." This pro-consumer, pro-manufacturer legislation, introduced by committee member Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC), would exempt certain lighting technologies from the definition of “External Power Supplies" (EPS) included in the Department of Energy’s (DOE) EPS efficiency standard, which was finalized in 2014. Relief is necessary as the requirements of DOE’s final rule go into effect in February of 2016.as they are posted.

Also on Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology will hold a legislative hearing on four bills focusing on protecting consumers and small businesses. The subcommittee continues to advance legislation on behalf of consumers that promotes economic growth. The bills to be discussed are:

* H.R. 1301, the Amateur Radio Parity Act

* H.R. 2666, the No Rate Regulation of Broadband Internet Access Act

* H.R. 2669, the Anti-Spoofing Act

* H.R. ____, the Small Business Broadband Deployment Act
