WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today announced its hearing schedule for the week of March 21.
On Tuesday, the Subcommittees on Energy and Power and Environment and the Economy will hold a joint oversight hearing to examine the Environmental Protection Agency’s FY 2017 budget proposal with Administrator Gina McCarthy. The subcommittees will discuss funding priorities, enforcement activities, and major changes to the budget with the goal of eliminating inefficiencies. Witness testimony will be posted at the same link as it is available.
Also on Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology will hear from all five FCC Commissioners on key areas of oversight. The subcommittee will examine the FCC’s policy decisions and the process by which it reaches them. Members will also examine the upcoming incentive auction, privacy issues, and FCC process reforms, among other things. Witness testimony will be posted at the same link as it is available.
On Wednesday, Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) will hold a “Conversation on Child Cures." Roger Daltrey, lead singer for The Who and Co-Founder of Teen Cancer America will headline the discussion, which will include patients and advocates, including an 18-year-old student with cystic fibrosis, and parents of children with rare diseases., and a video feed will be available at the same link on the day of the event.
