WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today announced its hearing schedule for the week of May 9.
On Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing to examine patient-centered health care reforms. The hearing will focus on improving pre-existing condition protections, lowering patient costs, and encouraging plan innovation without government mandates.as they are posted.
Also on Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade will convene a hearing to discuss the current direction of daily fantasy sports gaming. Members will examine state-level consumer protection actions and assess the need for federal involvement in this rapidly-growing industry. The Majority Memorandum and witness testimony will be posted at the same link as it is available.
On Friday, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing to examine youth sports safety. The hearing continues the committee’s broad review of concussions. Members will discuss the importance of examining the child and adolescent population, learning more about what research is currently being conducted, and what needs to be done to protect our youth athletes.as they are posted.
