Look Ahead: Committee Announces Hearing Schedule for the Week of May 23

WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today announced its hearing schedule for the week of May 23.

On Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade will hold a legislative hearing on 17 bills to bring needed reform to the Federal Trade Commission and put innovation first. Members will examine targeted plans to modernize regulations and clear the way for 21st century businesses.as they are posted.

Also on Tuesday, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing examining improper payments and ineligible providers in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Recent watchdog reports have highlighted concerns on these issues, and in some cases, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has yet to implement recommendations that would have addressed these problems.as they are posted.

On Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Health will hold a legislative hearing to boost cybersecurity at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Members will examine bipartisan legislation to ensure that HHS is prepared to protect sensitive health care information from evolving threats.as they are posted.
