#Ride4Gabe DAY 9: In the Home Stretch, #Path2Cures Takes Cyclists From Kentucky Down to Alabama

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Aug. 6, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

WASHINGTON, DC - #Ride4Gabe 2016 started the morning in Cave City, Kentucky, and is scheduled to cross into Tennessee before the afternoon. Later today they’ll meet with local Duchenne families before continuing their journey to Alabama, where they are scheduled to break for the day shortly after 8 p.m.

Today’s #Ride4Gabe route is marked in red.

After today, the #Ride4Gabe crew only has two more days left on their 11-day cycling tour of the East Coast. Cyclist Wes Bates recorded a brief video during the journey, chronicling his sore muscles and tired body, but his determination to continue pedaling - all for Gabe.

“We’re in the home stretch now," said Michael Staley, one of the cyclists participating in the #Ride4Gabe. “I can tell you that there will be a lot of cheers when we cross over the Alabama state line. We’ve still got a few hundred miles to go, but every single mile is worth it with Gabe alongside us for this journey for #CuresNow to #EndDuchenne."
