WASHINGTON, DC - The House Committee on Energy and Commerce today announced its hearing schedule for the week of September 26.
Tuesday’s Subcommittee on Health hearing, entitled “Examining Expanded Access to Investigational Therapies," has been postponed. Information on a new date and time will be posted here when it becomes available.
Tuesday afternoon, the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing entitled, “Bioresearch Labs and Inactivation of Dangerous Pathogens." Over the last two years, the subcommittee has held hearings on shipments of live anthrax from federal labs at the CDC and a Department of Army lab that were thought to be rendered harmless through a process called inactivation. Members will have an opportunity to evaluate the issues related to the inactivation of dangerous pathogens, and see what potential next steps can be taken.
