Pallone Blasts Chairman Pai's Latest Attempt to Undermine Consumer Privacy

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Feb. 24, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, D.C.-Energy and Commerce Committee Ranking Member Frank Pallone, Jr. offered the following statement in response to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai's announcement that he is seeking a stay on some of the FCC's broadband privacy protections:

“Chairman Pai’s announcement lands another blow to consumers on behalf of the Trump Administration. The American people have been clear: they want more protections for their data, not fewer. We must ensure consumers’ private information is protected, no matter where they go on the internet or how they connect."
