WASHINGTON, D.C. - House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) released the following statement after President Donald Trump laid out his health care reform proposals in a joint address to Congress.
“I am glad to see President Trump articulate a conservative vision for health care reform that will lower the cost of care for patients and families while also rolling back the burdensome Obamacare mandates that have wreaked havoc on insurance markets. House Republicans will continue to work closely with the Senate and The White House in order to repeal Obamacare and bring relief to the millions of Americans suffering under this failing law. Our plan will deliver on our shared goals of protecting patients living with pre-existing conditions, lowering costs, and giving states more flexibility and choice."
