NEXT WEEK: #SubOversight to Examine DOE’s Efforts to Address Cyber Threats in Energy Sector

WASHINGTON, DC - The Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations scheduled a hearing for Friday, December 8, 2017, at 9 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Examining the Role of the Department of Energy in Energy Sector Cybersecurity."

Earlier this year, #SubEnergy heard from the electricity sector on their efforts to respond to cybersecurity threats. Next week’s #SubOversight hearing seeks to build on this work as members will explore the Department of Energy’s roles and responsibilities for energy sector cybersecurity and how the department plans to assist the sector with this growing threat. Members hope to hear from DOE regarding their work to address cyber threats, DOE’s work with other federal agencies to improve energy sector cybersecurity, and any gaps or weaknesses DOE sees in current federal and private sector capabilities.as they are posted.
