WASHINGTON, DC - The Health Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), today scheduled a hearing for Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at 10 a.m. in room 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Examining the Drug Supply Chain."
#SubHealth will review the manufacturing of, wholesale and distribution of, and payment for drugs, and how each of these stages impact the cost of medications.
“As we work to address the high costs of certain drugs, this hearing will serve as an important educational opportunity and sharpen our collective understanding of the drug supply chain," said Chairman Burgess. “Improving access to life-saving treatments is a non-partisan priority. As we continue to build on the success of the transformative 21st Century Cures Act, our committee must fully comprehend how each step of the drug supply chain process impacts consumers."
The Majority Memorandum, witness list, and witness testimony for the hearing will be available here as they are posted.
