The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on June 12, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chair Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced today that the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, June 19, at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Protecting Title X and Safeguarding Quality Family Planning Care."

“The Title X family planning program has played a critical role in the lives of Americans for nearly 50 years," Pallone and DeGette said. “Unfortunately, the Trump Administration has instituted changes that undermine the success of Title X and will imperil the health and wellbeing of millions of patients, especially low-income women, who rely on the program. This hearing will shine a light on the Trump Administration’s harmful actions and provide an opportunity to hear directly from experts on the essential role the Title X program plays in supporting high-quality family planning and related health care across the country."

Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, witness list and testimony, and a live webcast, will be posted HERE as they become available.
