Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee Chairman Paul Tonko (D-NY) announced today that the Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, July 24, at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 of the Rayburn House Office Building on shifting the U.S. economy away from carbon pollution. The hearing is entitled, “Building America’s Clean Future: Pathways to Decarbonize the Economy."
“The climate crisis is here. Communities around the country are suffering from historic flooding, raging wildfires, severe storms, extreme heat and persistent droughts. Combatting this crisis requires an economy-wide shift to dramatically reduce carbon pollution, and we are committed to leading that effort," said Pallone and Tonko. “We look forward to exploring the scope of this challenge and discussing how best to chart a path that achieves this bold vision for a cleaner, healthier future."
