The following press release was published by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on Oct. 16, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chair Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced today that the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 10 am in the John D. Dingell Room, 2123 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Sabotage: The Trump Administration’s Attack on Health Care."

“Over nearly three years, Administrator Seema Verma has played a key role in the Trump Administration’s ongoing efforts to sabotage Americans’ health care while flouting our Congressional oversight requests," Pallone and DeGette said. “That lack of accountability ends next week when members will have the opportunity to question Administrator Verma directly about her tenure, including efforts to undermine the Affordable Care Act, expand junk short-term health insurance plans and impose illegal Medicaid work requirements."

Information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, testimony and a live webcast will be posted HERE as they become available.
