WASHINGTON, DC - Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Greg Walden (R-OR) released the following statement on reports that Deputy Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette will be nominated to be Energy Secretary:

“While it will be hard to replace the drive, enthusiasm, and spirit that Rick Perry brought to the Department of Energy, I am confident that Deputy Secretary Brouillette will transition into this leadership role seamlessly. As a former staff director for the Energy and Commerce Committee, we all look forward to welcoming ‘Secretary’ Brouillette back to the ‘best committee on the Hill’ in the near future and working alongside him as we continue the progress on energy security, innovation, and dominance made under Secretary Perry," said Walden.
