Washington, D.C. - Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee Chairman Paul Tonko (D-NY) announced today that the Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Thursday, December 5, at 10:30 am in room 2322 of the Rayburn House Office Building entitled “Building a 100 Percent Clean Economy: Solutions for Economy-Wide Deep Decarbonization."
“As part of this series of hearings, we’ve examined ways to build a 100 percent clean economy by discussing the progress, challenges and opportunities for decarbonizing high-polluting sectors," said Pallone and Tonko. “It’s time we take a look at the role national climate mitigation policies and mechanisms will play in combating climate change and developing a clean economy. We look forward to hearing ways to design and use these policies to transform our economy in order to drastically cut carbon pollution, create good paying jobs and lead the world in growing new, clean industries."
The is the seventh hearing in the Committee’s climate change series aimed at developing comprehensive legislation to achieve a 100 percent clean economy by 2050.
