Health Subcommittee to Hold Hearing on Universal Health Care Coverage

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 10:30 am in 2322 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled “Proposals to Achieve Universal Health Care Coverage."

“Universal health care coverage has long been the North Star of the Democratic Party and it’s why the Health Subcommittee will hold a hearing to examine seven legislative proposals that advance universal coverage for the American people," Pallone and Eshoo said.

The Committee will consider the following bills:

H.R. 1277, the “State Public Option Act," introduced by Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM);

H.R. 1346, the “Medicare Buy-In and Health Care Stabilization Act of 2019," introduced by Rep. Brian Higgins (D-NY);

H.R. 1384, the “Medicare for All Act of 2019," introduced by Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) and Debbie Dingell (D-MI);

H.R. 2000, the “Medicare-X Choice Act of 2019," introduced by Rep. Antonio Delgado (D-NY);

H.R. 2452, the “Medicare for America Act of 2019," introduced by Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT);

H.R. 2463, the “Choose Medicare Act," introduced by Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA); and

H.R. 4527, the “Expanding Health Care Options for Early Retirees Act," introduced by Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ).
