Energy Subcommittee Announces Hearing on Advanced Nuclear Technology and Its Role in a Carbon-Free Future

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Energy Subcommittee Chairman Bobby Rush (D-IL) announced today that the Energy Subcommittee will hold a hearing on advanced nuclear energy technologies on Tuesday, March 3, at 10:30 am in 2322 Rayburn House Office Building. The hearing is entitled, “Building a 100 Percent Clean Economy: Advanced Nuclear Technology’s Role in a Decarbonized Future."

“As the climate crisis grows and demands increasingly innovative new technologies, we must consider the role carbon-free solutions like nuclear power can play in achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions and preventing the worst impacts of climate change," Pallone and Rush said. “We look forward to discussing the promise of advanced nuclear energy technologies and how they can aid in our efforts to combat the climate crisis."
