E&C Health Subcommittee Announces Legislative Hearing on Mental Health Bills

Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo announced that the Health Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. (EDT). The legislative hearing is entitled, “High Anxiety and Stress: Legislation to Improve Mental Health During Crisis."

“As we confront a global pandemic, severe economic downturn and systemic racism, we are faced with increased anxiety and stress. Mental health is an essential part of our nation’s health and wellbeing, and it is uniquely important during this time of unprecedented crisis-particularly for those with existing mental health conditions," Pallone and Eshoo said. “Next week, the Subcommittee will examine numerous bills to improve the quality of mental health care in America."

This hearing will take place remotely via Cisco Webex video conferencing. Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website. Please note the webcast will not be available until the hearing begins.
