Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chair Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced today that the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Tuesday, July 21, with officials from five drug manufacturers developing COVID-19 vaccine candidates. Officials from AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Moderna and Pfizer will testify at the hearing.

“This hearing will provide an opportunity for both Congress and the American people to hear directly from some of the manufacturers currently developing potential COVID-19 vaccines," Pallone and DeGette said. “We look forward to hearing from each of the companies about their research and development efforts, safety and efficacy standards and their ongoing preparations to manufacture and distribute an eventual vaccine."

Additional details will be announced the week prior to the hearing.
