Rodgers Statement on the Pandemic Scams Act Becoming Law

Washington, DC - Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released a statement after President Donald J. Trump signed the Pandemic Scams Act (H.R. 6435) into law.

“The last thing Americans need as we rebuild and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic is a harmful scam that can destroy their lives. Unfortunately, as our nation continues to fight this virus, bad actors are targeting Americans-especially seniors and people with disabilities-with fake treatments, cures, and more. Especially with the vaccine distribution under way, we must remain vigilant to protect people and hold bad actors accountable. This bipartisan bill signed into law today will help us do just that. I thank my colleagues on the Energy and Commerce Committee for spearheading this effort in the House, and President Trump for acting swiftly to sign this bill into law," said Rodgers.
