Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Health Subcommittee Chairwoman Anna G. Eshoo (D-CA) announced today that the Health Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Wednesday, April 28, at 11 a.m. (EDT). The hearing is entitled, “The Long Haul: Forging a Path through the Lingering Effects of COVID-19."
“Many people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 find themselves with lingering symptoms that persist for weeks and months, leaving them with serious questions and concerns about the lasting impacts of the virus," said Pallone and Eshoo. “Next week’s hearing will be highly instructive in learning more about ‘long COVID’ and the work the NIH, CDC, and the health care and patient community are doing to better understand its long-term effects. The Committee will explore what’s needed to ensure there can be a full recovery from this virus as we forge a path toward a post-pandemic future."
This hearing will be conducted remotely via Cisco Webex video conferencing. Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website. Please note the webcast will not be available until the hearing begins.
