Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Energy Subcommittee Chairman Bobby L. Rush (D-IL) announced today that the Energy Subcommittee will hold a fully remote legislative hearing on Wednesday, May 5, at 11:30 a.m. (EDT) on the electric vehicle (EV) provisions within the Climate Leadership and Environmental Action for our Nation’s (CLEAN) Future Act, including Chairman Rush’s NO EXHAUST Act. The hearing is entitled, “The CLEAN Future Act: Driving Decarbonization of the Transportation Sector."
“Not only are electric vehicles vital tools in our fight against climate change, but their incredible fuel efficiency also makes them much more affordable to operate - and the rapid growth of the EV market is a testament to how desirable they have become. Americans deserve the choice to buy American-made EVs, and we have a responsibility to ensure the infrastructure is in place to make that choice available to everyone," Pallone and Rush said. “We look forward to discussing how the CLEAN Future Act will support these vehicles and modernize our aging transportation sector for a more sustainable, affordable future."
