Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee Chairman Paul Tonko (D-NY) announced today that the Environment and Climate Change Subcommittee will hold a fully remote legislative hearing on Tuesday, May 25, at 11:30 a.m. (EDT) entitled, “The CLEAN Future Act and Drinking Water: Legislation to Ensure Drinking Water is Safe and Clean."
“Families should be able to trust that the water coming from their taps is safe, but the truth is that millions of households across the country can’t, and that’s unacceptable," said Pallone and Tonko. “President Biden has called on Congress to deliver safer drinking water and strengthen our nation’s water infrastructure, and we look forward to discussing several bills that would achieve that, including the CLEAN Future Act. Unsafe drinking water is a hazard to public health, and we are committed to advancing real, meaningful reform."
This hearing will take place remotely via Cisco Webex video conferencing. Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website. Please note the webcast will not be available until the hearing begins.
Additional information for this hearing, including the Committee Memorandum, the legislation to be considered, testimony, and the live webcast will be posted HERE as they become available.
