Energy and Commerce Chairman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ) and Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee Chair Diana DeGette (D-CO) announced today that the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee will hold a fully remote hearing on Wednesday, May 26, at 11:00 a.m. (EDT) on building confidence in COVID-19 vaccines in order to vaccinate more Americans. The hearing is entitled, “A Shot at Normalcy: Building COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence."
“Thanks to the tremendous progress we have made in the national effort to immunize Americans against COVID-19, we now have a shot at beginning to return to normalcy, but our work is far from over," Pallone and DeGette said. “While more Americans receive lifesaving vaccines every day, we must continue to build trust in the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, reduce access barriers, and encourage unvaccinated Americans to get their shots. Next week, we will hear from public health leaders and other stakeholders on how best to combat misinformation, break down access barriers, and increase COVID-19 vaccine confidence so that all Americans can take advantage of these life-saving vaccines."
