WASHINGTON, D.C. - Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Senator John Kerry (D-MA) released the following statement today in response to Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner's announcement ahead of the G-20 preparatory meeting taking place this weekend in London:

"This Administration has offered a bold response to a global financial crisis that demands nothing short of bold and creative solutions. The G20 meeting in London will be a leadership moment on the world stage for President Obama. We will support him in his effort to right the global economy and protect the weakest economies in the developing world through institutions like the IMF. We also support efforts designed to include all the G20 countries in this effort, particularly those from Asia and the Middle East who have the significant financial resources needed to bolster the IMF's fire power."
