WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senator Robert Menendez, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, released the following statement in observance of Yom Hashoah.

“On this day, Yom Hashoah, all freedom loving people throughout the world fulfill the promise to never forget the more than six million Jews who were lost in the systemic cruelty of the Holocaust. And today, we also recall the brave valor of the Jews who resisted Nazi oppression in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising 70 years ago on the Hebrew calendar," said Chairman Menendez. “As we make these remembrances today, Iran's President continues to deny the Holocaust, while threatening the very existence of Israel as the Jewish state. Today we recommit ourselves, both in words and in deeds, to never again allow such tragedy and prejudice to befall the Jewish people and stain our collective humanity."
