“I congratulate the people of Tunisia on the peaceful and democratic election of their new parliament. Tunisia's leaders should be commended for their commitment to dialogue, pluralism, and consensus. The Tunisian people will continue to take critical next steps in their democratic transition by holding presidential elections in November. I look forward to working with Tunisia’s government as they take actions to implement political and economic reforms that are necessary for long term prosperity and stability."
