Public notices: Transportation Department publishes 10 in week ending Feb. 26

There were 10 notices published by the Transportation Department in week ending Feb. 26, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Notice of Noise Exposure Map Update, was submitted on February 25, 2022.

The Transportation Department published 35 the week before, marking a 71.4 percent decrease.

The Department handles nearly all infrastructure crisscrossing the country. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department should be privatized to save money, reduce congestion and spur innovation.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
