Rep. Howard P. “Buck" McKeon (R-CA), the senior Republican on the U.S. House Education and Labor Committee, today announced the lineup of Republican members selected to serve on the committee for the 111th Congress.

Newly-elected members joining the committee are: Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY), Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA), Rep. Duncan D. Hunter (R-CA), and Rep. Phil Roe (R-TN).

Returning to the committee are Representatives: Thomas E. Petri (R-WI), Peter Hoekstra (R-MI), Michael N. Castle (R-DE), Mark E. Souder (R-IN), Vernon J. Ehlers (R-MI), Judy Biggert (R-IL), Todd Russell Platts (R-PA), Joe Wilson (R-SC), John Kline (R-MN), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), Tom Price (R-GA), Virginia Foxx (R-NC), and Rob Bishop (R-UT).

McKeon congratulated the new and returning Republican members of the committee on their appointments, and thanked two departing members - Reps. Charles Boustany (R-LA) and Kenny Marchant (R-TX) - for their years of service

"Representatives Boustany and Marchant have made vital contributions to the policies that impact America’s workers, families, and schools during their time on the Education and Labor Committee, and I wish them well as they take on new challenges serving on other important committees," said McKeon.

“We have assembled an impressive lineup of Republican Members to serve on the Education and Labor Committee in the 111th Congress, with a group of talented and energetic freshmen joining our already strong team," said McKeon. “This committee grapples with some of the most critical challenges facing our nation, and I am pleased to have the right team in place to face those challenges head on. It will be a privilege to serve alongside this dynamic group."
