***MEDIA ADVISORY*** Subcommittee to Review Recent Mine Safety and Health Administration Regulations

On Thursday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m., the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections, chaired by Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI), will hold a hearing entitled “Examining Recent Regulatory and Enforcement Actions of the Mine Safety and Health Administration." The hearing will take place in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

Over the last six months, the Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) initiated several regulatory and policy changes aimed at improving mine safety. This hearing will provide Members an opportunity to learn more about MSHA’s specific activities, as well as the agency’s overall progress on mine safety issues. The Honorable Joseph A. Main, MSHA’s Assistant Secretary of Labor for Mine Safety and Health, will offer testimony and answer Member questions during the hearing.
