***MEDIA ADVISORY*** THIS WEEK: Committee to Examine Student Safety in the Job Corps Program

The following was published by the House Committee on Education and Labor on June 20, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

On Thursday, June 22, at 10:00 a.m., the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, chaired by Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), will hold a hearing to examine student safety in the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Job Corps program. The hearing will take place in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.

Members will review reports that reveal ongoing mismanagement of the program, as well as discuss the implementation of recent reforms to enhance oversight and accountability. Earlier this month, Chairwoman Foxx and Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY) sent a letter to DOL requesting detailed information on steps the department is taking to improve health and safety.
