Republican Leader of the Committee on Education and Labor, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), issued this statement following today’s Supreme Court ruling in Espinoza v. Montana Department of Revenue:
“Educational choice is powerful. Students have the best chance at lifelong success if they have access to expanded opportunities at every level of education.
“Sadly, state-sanctioned religious bigotry has, for more than a century, denied too many families this basic right to educational freedom. Today, the Supreme Court has stood up for these families and for the fundamental American belief that religion must be treated equally in the public square.
“It is now up to us, the people’s elected leaders, to make real the promise of today’s ruling. I call on Democrats in Washington and around the country to stop their relentless assault on families seeking better educational options than the one-size-fits-all government mandate. It is time we stand up for families rather than the system. I look forward to continuing my advocacy for educational freedom as the Republican Leader of the Committee on Education and Labor."
