Shuster Statement on Obama Administration’s Rejection of Keystone XL Pipeline

The following press release was published by the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on Nov. 6, 2015. It is reproduced in full below.

Washington, DC - House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster issued the following statement today after President Obama permanently halted the Keystone XL pipeline project that would have added thousands of jobs to the American economy and increase our Nation’s energy security.

“Today the president could have shown leadership on the issue, instead, he allowed politics to interfere with much-needed policy. For over seven years this Administration came up with excuse after excuse in a thinly-veiled attempt to shutdown the project. This is a missed opportunity and one that will have lasting consequences."
