BOISE - Kyle Henry Marcum, 27, of Star, Idaho, pleaded guilty yesterday to aiding andabetting the sale of a stolen firearm, Acting U.S. Attorney Rafael Gonzalez announced. Marcum and co-defendant Bruce Threet were indicted in February by a federal grand in Boise.
According to information presented in court, on Sept. 15, 2016, Marcum was present when co-defendant Bruce Threet sold a stolen firearm to an undercover police officer.
The firearm, a Ruger,.22 pistol, was reported stolen three days earlier by a homeowner in Eagle, Idaho. Although Marcum did not steal the firearm, he arranged for the sale of the firearm knowing that the firearm was stolen.
The charge of aiding and abetting the sale of a stolen firearm is punishable by up to ten years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000 and up to three years of supervised release.
Sentencing will be August 9, 2017, before Senior District Judge Edward J. Lodge at the federal courthouse in Boise.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and the Boise Police Department.
