APHIS BRS Permit Application Updates and Training

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) makes it easier to submit an APHIS eFile BRS permit application.

On March 1, the APHIS's Biotechnology Regulatory Services (BRS) announced updates to the process of submitting an APHIS eFile BRS permit application.

"We look forward to your participation. If you have any questions, please contact BRS at BRS.eFile@usda.gov," said the press release.

The announced updates will take effect on March 28. Training sessions will also be available to help applicants regarding the updates.

Though updates are meant to make the filing process easier, applicants may need some help using the platform initially, so training sessions will be provided from March 29 to April 7.

With this new process, applicants can navigate through the BRS permit web application faster than before. It will become easier to manage larger sets of data. If applicants need to submit larger applications for BRS review and upload or delete attachments, they can do so without any problems. Moreover, permit applications will now have a new look, but the process of creating applications will remain the same. Applicants can continue accessing existing applications just like they do now.
