CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives participated this week in a multi-agency initiative to apprehend high-risk probation offenders located throughout Vance County.

ATF joined the U.S. Marshals Service and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, along with other local law enforcement partners, to conduct a search initiative focused on high-risk probation offenders. The offenders being sought were individuals currently on probation that presented a high risk of continued criminal behaviors.

Special Agents and law enforcement partners arrested 22 individuals, recovered eight firearms and served several outstanding felony arrest warrants in Henderson County and Vance County during the operation.

Along with the USMS and the NCDPS, participating law enforcement agencies included the Henderson Police Department, the Vance County Sheriff’s Office, the N.C. State Bureau of Investigations, the N.C. Department of Probation Services and Community Corrections, and the U.S. Probation Office.

ATF, along with our law enforcement partners, is committed to ensuring our communities are safe and that those who commit violent crimes such as this are held accountable. For more information about ATF, visit www.atf.gov.
