FSC/ETI AMENDMENTS FILED TODAY RELATED TO THE ENERGY TAX TITLE

The following press release was published by the Senate Committee On Energy & Natural Resources on May 10, 2004. It is reproduced in full below.

The following energy-related amendments to FSC-ETI were filed today. If we get cloture on the bill tomorrow, the Senate could consider these amendments: A McCain amendment to strike the energy tax title. Two McCain amendments to strike oil and gas provisions of the energy tax title. A McCain amendment in the nature of a substitute which has the stated purpose of returning to the bill as reported out by the Finance Committee. The amendment does not have an energy tax title. A Kyl amendment in the nature of a substitute. This amendment also does not have an energy tax title. We anticipate a cloture vote at noon to be followed by a vote related to Cantwell’s amendment to extend federal unemployment insurance. Second degree amendments must be filed by 11 a.m.
