DOMENICI CONGRATULATES BARTON AND DINGELL ON OVERWHELMING BIPARTISAN SUPPORT ON ENERGY BILL

Washington, D.C. - Senate Energy & Natural Resources Chairman Pete V. Domenici today congratulated Energy and Commerce Chairman Joe Barton, Ranking Member John Dingell and the House conferees on the successful passage of the H.R. 6 Conference report. The House passed the Energy Policy Act of 2005 by a vote of 275-156.

Chairman Domenici’s statement:

“I’m delighted by the House’s strong bipartisan support for the energy bill and look for a similar victory in the Senate. I congratulate Mr. Barton and Mr. Dingell on a notable success. Our shared commitment to an open, bipartisan process in crafting this legislation will give America its first comprehensive energy bill in 13 years. I am as proud of the process as I am of our bill."
