Sen. Murkowski Applauds House Disapproval Resolution
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, applauds the introduction of a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives to disapprove the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) endangerment finding.
Reps. Ike Skelton, D-Mo., Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, Collin Peterson, D-Minn., Chairman of the Agriculture Committee and Emerson, and Jo Ann Emerson, R-Mo., Ranking Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government, yesterday introduced Murkowski’s resolution in the House, intensifying the bipartisan and bicameral opposition to the EPA’s proposed climate change regulations.
“The introduction of this disapproval resolution sends a clear message: there is bipartisan and bicameral agreement that command-and-control regulations from EPA are not the right way to reduce the emissions blamed for climate change," Murkowski said. “The Administration has urged members of Congress to work together and across party lines. This action adds to the evidence that we are doing just that, and we do not want EPA imposing economically-harmful climate regulations. Energy and environmental policies should be developed in Congress, where the best interests of the American people can be represented."
Murkowski’s bipartisan disapproval resolution has a total of 41 sponsors in the Senate. #
