Springfield, MO - U.S. Marshal Mark S. James, Western District of Missouri, announces the arrest of seven Southwest Missouri fugitives on Wednesday, January 16th, all located in the Springfield area:
Jason Wages was charged in Greene County with 2nd Degree Burglary on October 26th, 2017, in a case investigated by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. A warrant was issued for his arrest on June 5th, 2018. Wages was also charged on February 27th, 2017, in a separate Springfield Police Department investigation for Stealing. A warrant was issued for his arrest on January 16th, 2019, after he failed to appear for a court appearance.
Charles Horner was charged on May 20th, 2018, in Christian County for felony drug offenses, in a case investigated by the Ozark Police Department. A warrant for his arrest was issued on January 11th, 2019, in this case. Horner was also charged on February 2nd, 2018, following a separate Springfield Police Department investigation for 3rd Degree Assault. On November 14th, 2018, a warrant was issued for Horner’s arrest in this case after he failed to appear for a court appearance.
Regina Horner, Charles Horner’s mother, was charged on May 20th, 2018, in Christian County for felony drug offenses. This case was also investigated by the Ozark Police Department. Both Horner’s were charged after a traffic stop in which heroin was found in their vehicle. A warrant for Regina Horner’s arrest was issued on January 11th, 2019 in this case.
Zackery Volner was charged on July 4th, 2016, in Greene County for 1st Degree Robbery in a case investigated by the Springfield Police Department. A warrant was issued for Volner’s arrest on Nov. 14, 2018, after he failed to appear for a court appearance. Volner is accused of using Craigslist to arrange meetings with potential used car buyers, and then robbing them at gunpoint.
Karie Kerr was charged on December 26th, 2018, in Christian County for felony possession of a controlled substance, in a case investigated by the Ozark Police Department. Kerr was charged after a traffic stop in which methamphetamine was found in her vehicle. A warrant was issued for her arrest in this case on January 4th, 2019.
Alex Martinez was charged with violating the terms of his federal supervised release, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on January 3rd, 2019. Martinez was originally charged by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Billie Anderson was charged with violating the terms of his federal supervised release, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on Jan. 14, 2019. Anderson was originally charged by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The arrests of these fugitives in the Springfield area on Wednesday represents the culmination of weeks of investigative effort by the U.S. Marshals Service, as well as the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Springfield Police Department, the Ozark Police Department, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Probation Office. Marshal James credits these partner law enforcement agencies, who worked tirelessly to charge, and then bring these fugitives to justice.
The U.S. Marshals Midwest Violent Fugitive Task Force-Springfield Division, operates in conjunction with members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, the Springfield Police Department, and the Joplin Police Department. Marshal James stated, “I appreciate the support Sheriff Arnott, Sheriff Cole, Chief Williams and Chief Stewart have given to this task force effort. This task force works tirelessly to make southwest Missouri safer." The task force objectives are to seek out and arrest fugitives charged with violent crimes, drug offenses, sex offenders and other serious felonies. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 7 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
