Concord, NH - “Fugitive of the Week," Kevin Sullivan, 24, was featured just this morning and was just arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Portsmouth Police Department at a hotel near the Portsmouth traffic circle.
Sullivan was considered to be armed and dangerous, as he was being sought by Belknap County on several outstanding charges including; failing to appear on a charge of attempted armed robbery, being an armed career criminal and being a felon in possession of a deadly weapon. These charges stem from an incident in Laconia, NH, where Sullivan was identified as one of several suspects involved in an armed home invasion, during which Sullivan was allegedly in possession of an AR-15 style rifle.
Mr. Sullivan had been featured as the “Fugitive of the Week" just this morning. This feature was aired on WTPL-FM, WMUR-TV, The Union Leader, The Nashua Telegraph, The Patch, Foster’s Daily Democrat, Manchester Information, the Manchester Ink Link, The Rochester Voice and prominently featured on the internet. The “Fugitive of the Week" has been a very successful tool that has resulted in the location and arrest of numerous fugitives since its implementation in 2007. Additionally, the “Fugitive of the Week" is distributed statewide to all law enforcement officers.
Based on the “Fugitive of the Week" feature, numerous tips pointed investigators to a specific hotel near the Portsmouth Traffic Circle. Investigators from the US Marshals - NH Joint Fugitive Task Force and the Portsmouth Police Department went to the area and quickly confirmed that Sullivan was located inside the hotel. The team of investigators went to the door of the hotel room, where they knocked on the door and announced their presence. A female companion opened the door and Sullivan was arrested without incident.
Sullivan will be held at the Rockingham County Jail until Thursday, when he will be transported to Belknap County for processing, holding and eventual court appearance on some very serious charges.
Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 7,475 arrests (Updated as of 12/10/2018). These arrests have ranged in seriousness from murder, assault, unregistered sex offenders, probation and parole violations and numerous other serious offenses. Nationally the United States Marshals Service fugitive programs are carried out with local law enforcement in 94 district offices, 85 local fugitive task forces, 8 regional task forces, as well as a growing network of offices in foreign countries.
