Bristol County MA Most Wanted Fugitive Arrested in Woodstock, VT

Burlington, VT - The U.S. Marshal Service arrested a fugitive wanted by the Massachusetts State Police for Multiple counts of Larceny over $250.00 from disabled/elderly person.

Anthony Schmitka, 58, was wanted out of the State of Massachusetts for 2 counts of Larceny over $250.00 from disabled/elderly person. Schmitka allegedly stole more than $100,000 from his 81-year-old father.

A warrant was issued by the Bristol County Superior Court in Massachusetts on Oct. 27, 2016. Schmitka is currently on the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office Most wanted List.

U.S. Marshals worked on the fugitive investigation since Feb. 15, 2019 to gather intelligence on Schmitka’s whereabouts. It was believed that Schmitka was actively evading arrest from law enforcement and was hiding out in the Woodstock Vermont area. Schmitka was arrested on Wednesday March 6, 2019 by U.S. Marshals and members of the Woodstock Police Department on Court Street, in Woodstock Vermont.

Schmitka was transported to the Woodstock Police Department where he was charged in the State of Vermont as a Fugitive from Justice.
