Burlington, VT - The U.S. Marshals Service arrested a fugitive wanted by the State of Nevada and Vermont.
Lewis Alexander Coy, 32, of Las Vegas, Nevada was arrested on March 11, 2019 in Burlington, Vermont when confronted by Deputy U.S. Marshals.
The State of Nevada Probation and Parole reached out to the U.S. Marshals Service for assistance in locating and apprehending fugitive Coy. Coy had an extraditable warrant out of the State of Nevada for violating his probation stemming from a conviction for attempted prohibited acts by a sex offender. Coy is a convicted sex offender who is required to register in Nevada for life. In addition, Coy was wanted by the State of Vermont for providing false information to law enforcement.
On March 11, 2019, U.S. Marshals apprehended COY on Spring Street in Burlington, VT.
Coy’s criminal history includes 5 felony convictions dating back to the early 2000’s.
Coy was charged as a Fugitive from Justice and held on $15,000 bail, pending further court proceedings.
Coy was aware of his Nevada and Vermont warrants and was actively evading arrest from law enforcement until apprehended by Deputy U.S. Marshals.
