Accused Murderer Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force

Memphis, TN - A first degree murder suspect was arrested in Memphis earlier today.

Davaius Worrles was wanted for the death of Demarcus Turner in Somerville, TN on June 14, 2019. Worrles allegedly shot Turner with a handgun.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force adopted the fugitive case. The fugitive was located in a residence at the 4000 block of Steele Street. Assisting the Task Force were the Multi-Agency Task Force and officers from the MPD (Memphis Police Department) Old Allen Precinct. The fugitive was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Shelby County Detention Facility.

The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the GCRFTF has offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police Officers, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, BATF, and the Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
