Burlington, VT - The U.S. Marshals Service arrested a fugitive wanted by the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department for Sexual Assault.

Juan Vasquez, 19, was wanted by the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department, on an arrest warrant charging him with Sexual Assault. The arrest warrant was signed in June 21, 2019 with bail set at $100,000.00.

On Oct. 28, 2019 the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department sought the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service in locating and arresting Vasquez, as it was believed that Vasquez fled the state after the assault to avoid prosecution.

Vasquez’s arrest was the result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals VVOTF (Vermont Violent Offender Tak Force), the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ (New York/New Jersey) Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department.
