Harrisburg, PA - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of John Curtis Anderson Jr. - a 22-year old Harrisburg man.
On June 12, 2019, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police investigated the death of a 9-month old boy in the 600 block of Geary Street. The investigation revealed that the child suffered significant internal injuries while in the care of his father, John Anderson Jr. On Nov. 25, 2019, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police obtained an arrest warrant charging Anderson with Criminal Homicide and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.
Today at about 8:45 a.m., the task force arrested Anderson without incident in the 200 block of West North Street, Carlisle. He was turned over to the Dauphin County Booking Center to await arraignment.
United States Marshal Pane stated, “It’s the Marshals Services’ duty to ensure that those charged with violent crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that the community will find some measure of comfort knowing the suspect will face justice."
The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies; including the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, the Dauphin County Adult Probation Office, the Swatara Township Police Department and the Lower Paxton Township Police Department - all of whom participated in this arrest.
