Yakima, WA - A fugitive wanted in the relation to a double homicide that took place in Moxee, Washington was arrested in Mexico on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020.
Jesus Perez, was arrested near Guadalajara, Mexico, Thursday after U.S. Marshals developed information regarding his possible location and provided that information to Mexican authorities, who took him into custody.
Perez was showcased on an episode of Washington’s Most Wanted and Crime Stoppers tips started pouring in. The investigation and tips led authorities to believe Perez was most likely hiding out in Mexico. Mexican authorities were able to locate and arrest him on Thursday evening.
U.S. Marshal Craig Thayer thanked the participating agencies for their hard work. He continued by saying, “Their persistence has paid off and this dangerous criminal is now off the street." USM Thayer also thanked the Mexican Authorities, Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Port of Seattle Police Department for their assistance. “This is great example of the dedication and cooperation that exists between our international, federal, state and local partners that help ensure justice to our communities."

The PNVOTFs primary mission is to locate, arrest, and return to the justice system the most violent, most egregious federal and state fugitives. The fulltime Yakima PNVOTF members include the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, Yakima Police Department, Washington State Department of Corrections and the Yakama Nation Tribal Police Department.
