Scranton, PA - Today, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Wayne White, a 48-year old Wilkes-Barre man.
On Aug. 27, 2020, the Plymouth Borough Police Department investigated the shooting and wounding of a person in the first block of Jeanette Street. As a result of that investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant charging White with Criminal Attempt Homicide and lesser included offenses. Attempts to find White in Luzerne County were unsuccessful and the case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force.
Today, at about noon, members of the task force checked a home in the 800 block of North Lex Street, Philadelphia and arrested White without incident. He was transported back to Luzerne County by the Task Force and turned over to the Plymouth Borough Police Department.
United States Marshal Pane stated, “It’s the Marshals Services’ duty to ensure that those charged with violent crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that the victim will find some measure of comfort knowing the suspect will face justice.
The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Parole Board; the Wilkes-Barre Police Department; the Kingston Police Department; the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office; and, the Scranton Police Department - all of whom participated in this investigation.
